Injuries Plague Heat Going Into NBA Finals

The Miami Heat have a handful of regulars nursing injuries one day before the start of the NBA Finals.
Reserve swingman Mike Miller said Monday that his injured left thumb will continue to bother him until he has offseason surgery. The injury doesn't seem to be bothering him as he totaled 19 points in the last two games of the Eastern Conference finals after managing just two in the first three games vs. Chicago.
Reserve forward James Jones is no longer wearing the walking boot he was using to protect his injured toe during the conference finals. He also is nursing a bad back.
Jones is averaging 6.5 points in the postseason but missed the first three games vs. Chicago.
Superstar guard Dwyane Wade has a well-chronicled sore left shoulder that is not expected to limit him in the Finals vs. the Dallas Mavericks. He averaged 30.2 points and shot better than 52 percent in the conference semifinals vs. Boston but just 18.8 points on 40.5 percent shooting vs. Chicago.
